Dr Claudia Black: "Unspoken Legacy"
At iCAAD London 2019,, Claudia Black will deliver a dynamic talk discussing the relationship of trauma and addiction, with the emphasis being on the family system. She will demonstrate the influences of generational repetition through the use of genograms. In discussing trauma, identifying both the more blatant to the more subtle, she will discuss what influences both the vulnerability and the resilience to painful life situations. Shame, the core belief in one’s unlovability, one’s lack of value, that grows from living with trauma and addiction will be acknowledged. From her own seminal work she will conclude detailing priorities in treatment, and seven stages of healing and recovery.
